Everything you need to know for a glow that feels as good as it looks.

  • To ensure a smooth, radiant tan:

    • Gently exfoliate your body 24 hours before your appointment to remove dry skin.

    • Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior.

    • Avoid using oils, lotion, or deodorant on the day of your session as they can create a barrier.

    • Come with clean, dry skin, and wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment.

  • Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. You can wear a swimsuit, undergarments, or go nude. Disposable undergarments are also available. We’re a body-positive space—judgment-free and inclusive.

  • Your custom tan will last 7–10 days, depending on your skin type and aftercare routine. Moisturizing daily and avoiding exfoliation will help extend your glow.

    • Wait 8–10 hours before rinsing (or follow your artist’s guide if using express solution).

    • Use lukewarm water—no soaps or scrubs during the first rinse.

    • Pat your skin dry—don’t rub.

    • Avoid lotions, perfumes, and deodorants for at least 12 hours after rinsing.

    • After that, moisturize daily with a clean, unscented lotion to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.

  • Some temporary transfer may occur before your first rinse, especially with lighter fabrics. We recommend wearing dark, loose-fitting clothes and using darker sheets or towels the day of your tan.

  • Your skin’s safety is our top priority. We use clean, high-quality, skin-loving ingredients. If you're prone to reactions, let us know—we offer patch testing prior to your appointment to ensure the formula works for you.

  • That’s completely normal! At Mindful Tanning, we create a safe, calming space where your comfort comes first. We’ll guide you through the entire process, answer any questions, and make sure you feel confident before we even begin. You’re in good hands.

  • We believe beauty is part of your wellness journey. Our founder’s background in psychology and human services informs everything we do—from how we hold space for clients to how we define beauty. A mindful tan isn’t about changing how you look—it’s about reconnecting with how you feel in your body.

  • Our solutions are non-toxic and pregnancy-safe, but we always recommend checking with your doctor first. For breastfeeding, we suggest wearing a covering or washing your chest area before nursing after your tan.

  • We recommend booking 1–2 days before your event or vacation to give the tan time to fully develop and settle.
